Long-span racking is the perfect solution for storing heavy hand goods or bulky goods on pallets underneath. Due to its robust design, the long-span racking system does not require a bottom shelf level, which means that ground-level pallets can be stored.

Long-span racking does what it says on the tin and allows you to store heavy loads across large spans thanks to its robust design and the thickness of its steel beams. This makes it perfect for storing heavy, bulky or very wide loads easily, such as pipe or timber storage.

Construction of Long Span Shelving System

The construction of a long-span racking system is similar to that of pallet racking. It consists of a frame, beams, various accessories, and wooden or metal shelves.

Holes are cut in the uprights, spaced 50 mm apart, to allow for the bolting of the beams. The tapered hooks guarantee a stable and rigid design, even without back support.

We have a number of heavy-duty long-span racking systems available from our rapid racking stock, including rapid-span, wide-span and European-span racking, which have been tested to European FEM safety standards and are ready for rapid delivery. We also pre-build long-span racking frames free of charge, prior to delivery, to make installation quick and easy.

The IRONSTONE long-span shelving system has a high frame capacity, which means you can combine many levels in one bay. This heavy-duty long-span shelving is particularly economical when building bays that are joined together. All you need is one start bay, and as many additional bays as you need.
