Double deep rack series are derived from selective pallet racks, it
is consist of two standard selective racks set up back to back. Its
simple structure and high storage capacity make it double inventory
than ordinary rack type.
These racks require special forklifts, and their specifications can
be modified according to customer requirements. This rack system is
widely used in tobacco, food and beverage, packaging, and other
industries.
Accessories
♦ Frames
The double deep pallet rack system has the same basic structure as
the selective pallet rack. The upright frames are composed of two
columns, several horizontal bracing, and several diagonal bracing.
Usually double deep rack is consist of four frames together.
♦ Beams
As a important role in the rack, the beam is the support part of
the rack, it provides the storage space for cargo, it may also be
equipped with partitions, which may be steel plates or wire decks
to use pallets to match different sizes.
♦ Pallet supports
Pallet supports can provide added space for storage in needed if
the size of the cargo is not suitable. Moreover, it makes cargo
more stable and safe, its length and width are determined by
cargoes and racks.
♦ Row spacer
Row spacer is used to connect each pallet rack bay, it saves space
in aisles by connecting individual shelves together into a group,
which makes racks more neat and unified.
Notice
The picking rate of the selective pallet rack is 100%, which can
achieve FIFO, while the utilization rate of space of double deep
rack system is higher, but the picking rate is only 50%, so it is
difficult to achieve FIFO.
Selective pallet rack and double deep rack have their own
advantages and disadvantages, and the specific choice of which one
should be based on the size of the warehouse and the demand for
cargo.
