Assembling Longspan Shelving
Longspan shelving is simple to assemble and can be completed in a
reasonable amount of time by two persons.
1. Start by opening all of your boxes, then classify the uprights,
beams, and shelves into categories.
2. Make two groups of four out of the beams, one to your right and
the other to your left. When you attach them to the uprights later,
you will need these close by.
3. Place the vertical uprights in a standing position, facing one
another, and place the beams at arm's length.(If you're by
yourself, you can hold one of the uprights up using a wall.)
4. Put the beam onto the outer area of the upright while holding it
with one hand, then ask your partner to put the other end of the
beam onto the other upright.
5.The identical procedure should be repeated with the second beam on
the other side. This will stabilize the shelving unit and add one
shelf space. For each additional beam, repeat the procedure.
6.The shelves can be inserted after the beams are put in place.The
shelf unit has the option of being bolted down for added security.
